Would you like to sleep in a swamp? Probably not. What about Shrek’s swamp? The home of Dreamworks’ angry green ogre is now up for rental on property booking site Airbnb, letting fans immerse themselves in a world of swampy wonder.
The property consists of a two-bed, one-bath cottage, complete with 'beware of ogre' sign and authentic Shrek decorations. It probably smells better, too. Round Balloons
It’s quite a trip, however: the swamp is situated in the Scottish highlands. Hey, that’s where Shrek’s accent’s from, so it makes sense.
Starting October 13, you can book this place for you and a loved one, or just stay inside yourself and live the solitary Shrek life, hoping no motor-mouthed donkeys show up wanting to make waffles.
Also, it’s free. Apparently. According to Airbnb: “For £0 a night – a nod to the priceless refuge Shrek’s Swamp has provided fairytale creatures of all kinds – ‘brogres’ will be able to request to book an exclusive two-night swamp stay* for up to three guests October 27-29.”
So it sounds like you’ll have to be quick, because there’ll be a lot of competition. Who wouldn’t want to stay in Shrek’s swamp for free? You'll have to pay for the DreamWorks Land coming to Universal Theme Park in 2024.
