The brand new InfiRay Gemini GEH50R multispectral binoculars with integrated laser rangefinder are now available |all4shooters.com

Manufacturer InfiRay is following the trend towards innovative developments in the field of modern optronic observation devices for hunting and is rolling out its new Gemini GEH50R multispectral binoculars to German retailers immediately after the product premiere. In the following article we will introduce you to this brand new device from the upper class, which combines not only a laser rangefinder but also a thermal imaging device with a digital night vision device, and will tell you the most important details about it.

With the new binocular model Gemini GEH50R, manufacturer InfiRay Outdoor has now launched a multispectral binocular with high-quality thermal imaging and digital night vision technology as well as an integrated laser rangefinder and HD daylight function in the premium class of hunting observation optics. In terms of design, InfiRay's new Gemini GEH50R is based on the compact design of classic binoculars. This means that it should not only offer the hunter a comfortable observation experience, even in demanding hunting situations. In addition, the new “thermal imaging night vision binoculars” are of course also very suitable for the private security sector, for example when monitoring buildings and areas. When it comes to thermal imaging technology, the InfiRay Gemini GEH50R has a high-resolution sub-25mk NETD thermal sensor with a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels and a pixel pitch of 12 µm, which is the smallest in conjunction with the 50 mm lens in the left tube Temperature differences can occur.According to the manufacturer, this means that a 1.7 m x 0.5 m object can be detected under optimal conditions at a distance of up to 2,600 m.The new Gemini GEH50R has a 35 mm lens in its right tube, behind which a CMOS sensor with 1,920 x 1,080 resolution at a 4 µm pitch ensures brilliant color day vision and digital night vision functions. Both images can be played back separately, but can also be combined into one image in fusion mode. This creates a very detailed image that is intended to ensure a clear distinction between different species of game in all conceivable lighting and temperature conditions. As is common with thermal imaging devices today, the user can also use different color modes with the Gemini: white heat, black heat, red heat, iron red (violet) and outline (outline).

Each of the two eyepieces of the InfiRay multispectral binoculars has an AMOLED display with an HD resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels. In addition to exceptional image quality, these also offer a generous field of view of 15.4 m wide at a distance of 100 m for the thermal imaging optics and of 16.4 m at a distance of 100 m for the night vision function.

The Gemini GEH50R also has an integrated laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1,200 m. The range finder can be used both for individual measurements and in scan mode for moving targets.

Other features of the InfiRay Gemini GEH50R include video, audio and photo recording with picture-in-picture display (PIP) and an integrated memory of 64 GB.There is also the option of video playback on the display and data transfer via WIFI (WLAN) connection via the InfiRay Outdoor app available for Android and IOS.The Gemini also has a USB-C interface that can be used for external power supply and data transfer.Speaking of power supply: The Gemini GEH50R is powered by two replaceable commercially available Li-Ion batteries of type 18650, which should last for up to 6 hours in continuous operation.

The sturdy plastic housing has a classic and ergonomic binocular design, but does not have an adjustable middle bridge. The pupil distance, i.e. the distance between the two eyes, is adjusted here by moving the eyepieces on the housing.Just as the focusing wheels attached next to both eyepieces can be easily operated with the thumb, the control buttons for function and menu control are located on the top of the two tubes, easily accessible to the fingers. An anti-slip, non-slip surface texture should also make the Gemini the perfect companion for hunting and outdoor use, even in unfavorable, damp weather conditions.

The new InfiRay Gemini GEH50R is now available from specialist retailers at a price of EUR 4,499.We are very excited to see how the new Gemini GEH50R performs in practice and have already asked the manufacturer about a test sample. If you are interested in InfiRay's thermal imaging attachments in addition to observation optics, you should also take a closer look at our test report linked here with a video on the MATE MAH50 attachment from the manufacturer's portfolio.
