Argentine provinces Neuquén and Río Negro are seeking power grid expansion work.
The request was submitted to power regulator Enre by transmission firm Transcomahue, acting on behalf of the provinces. Led Strip Light Transformer
The provinces are asking for a new 132/33kV transformer station, a 108km power line of 132kV between Alicurá and Dina Huapi, a 20km power line of 132kV between Dina Huapi and the Bariloche transformer station, and expansion work at the Bariloche and Alicurá transformer stations.
If conditions are met, Enre will authorize the work and issue a certificate of public need and convenience, a resolution in the official gazette states.
Several hydroelectric power plants are located on the Neuquén-Río Negro border, including Alicurá.
Transmission concessionaries are responsible for grid maintenance and operations. Planning and expansion work falls under the remit of the State.
