Canadian Solar today launched its HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 high-power, high-efficiency modules with power output of up to 665 W. The new solar panels use the 210-mm/8-in. G12 wafer.
The new monofacial HiKu7 and bifacial BiHiKu7 modules are optimized with industry tracker and inverter designs to support seamless installation of solar plants. This means more modules per string, more watts per tracker and pile, lower equipment and labor costs, and higher project returns. 250W Poly Solar Panel

“Following the launch of our 500 W+ modules only four months ago, I am excited to introduce our 600+ W modules today, which marks another milestone for Canadian Solar as the leader in solar PV cell and module technologies,” said Dr. Shawn Qu, Chairman and CEO of Canadian Solar. “As always, the design of our new HiKu7 and BiHiKu7 modules puts our customer needs at heart. Our focus is not only to increase power wattage but more importantly, to reduce LCOE, improve product reliability and increase energy yield. These product and technological innovations will continue to boost solar project returns, further improve solar energy’s competitiveness and accelerate the global clean energy transition.”

Hi Kelly love your articles. Would like to see more on home battery systems and comparisons thank you
I’m not so sure going bigger is better. This thing is 33 square feet and 90 pounds. When installed to a single axis tracker, this would be quite a wind sail and torque moment about the tracker shaft. Perhaps it’s time to focus on an 18 square foot panel package and get tandem technology to the point of 40% efficiency to get high output panels. At 18 square feet one could use this same panel for residential solar PV or utility scale solar PV. The more markets you can serve with your product, the more money to be made by one manufacturing plant.
